On Wednesday, our school was treated to a visit by the Mighty Zulu Nation Theatre Company. At the start of the day, a superb performance of dance, acrobatics, music and singing inspired the whole school. Lucky teachers and children joined the Zulus on stage to show their skils too, before most classes returned to their normal timetable with the Zulu beats still resonating within them.
Year 4, who are studying 'Africa', were then treated to a workshop. They mastered some Zulu greetings, sang some tribal harmonies and danced in traditional Zulu ways. The first hand experience of the costumes, singing and dancing has truly brought the topic to life. Dressed in traditional Zulu attire and looking truly amazing, the lively and funny cast members made this a day that Year 4 will not forget.
We look forward to seeing the Zulus again hopefully.
