A week of statistics for year 5 in maths began with a lesson outdoors. Despite the rain, and getting rather wet, the children were able to collect data from around the playground and Forest Schol. This data ranged from the 2D or 3D shapes we could find to the heights of plants and equipment. We will be using this data to make and analyse bar charts. Then, in their LOTC lesson, the children created pictograms about their data where they had to decide on their key and correctly put the pictures in - some of them even needed to use fractions in order to get the correct pictorial representation of the number.
