Year 5 enjoyed practising their measuring and estimating outside the classroom today, with a challenge to find objects closest to the measurements given. Firstly, a bit of metric conversion was needed, followed by some sensible estimates and then accurate use of scales, jugs, rulers and tape measures to check. There were some creative approaches to increasing capacity and some people even found ways to combine sticks and other items to make the exact mass. Length was probably the easiest, with a few groups finding objects that were within mm of the given measurement!
Well done Year 5!
