Year 6 enjoyed a cross-curricular Art and Science lesson today. Inspired by the work of local artist Fiona Gray, children made relief plaster tiles using a range of fresh flowers. Once a clay tile had been successfully rolled, flowers were carefully placed on to the tile and pressed in to make an imprint. Plaster was then poured over the imprint to make a cast, much like the process of fossilisation. This complements our recent work on the role of fossils in evidencing evolution.
