Children gain hands on experience of cultivating this special plot of land and being involved in Jesmond’s historically valuable Allotment Association. The pleasure of being involved in the planning, cultivation, harvesting and eating of our crops is worth every minute of our school’s collective hard work. Our allotment has certainly benefitted from the expertise of Jesmond residents who are our neighbouring plot holders, dedicated teachers and children who make the most of the plot to enrich their teaching and learning, families who visit the plot for enjoyment and who have helped us to maintain the plot to a high standard. We continue to explore ways that this valuable resource can benefit our school and local community. It is an exciting facility which just keeps giving.
